Dear Convention Attendees,

We are excited about this year’s convention. Last year at the culmination of our convention in Panama the Japan Boxing Commission (JBC) requested to the executive committee for our 2019 convention to be held in Tokyo, Japan. The measure was seconded and ultimately voted unanimously. Japan has a rich culture of architecture structures along with outstanding garden architectural sites. It has also unique traditional Japanese wood sculptures of Buddhist images. Wood is golden in Japan, it is traditionally used as chief material for sculptures and traditional Japanese architecture.

I encourage you to visit unique sites while in Tokyo, for example, the Kanda Shrine, located in downtown Chiyuda-Ku. It is well known that the Kami (good spirits) enshrined there are the two of the Seven Gods of Fortune. Most people visit to reflect and pray for wealth and success in business

With that said, the dates have been finalized and we are ready to start the journey towards Tokyo.

The host hotel will be the iconic Tokyo Dome Hotel, the hotel is located in the heart of the city, its surrounded by great restaurants and by the famous Tokyo Dome, home of the Tokyo Giants, Japan’s biggest professional baseball team, known as the New York Yankees of the East. Most important the Tokyo Dome also served as home to the biggest upsets in boxing history, on February 11, 1990 Mike Tyson, a 42-1 favorite, lost by knock out to James Buster Douglas ending his undefeated record hence losing the world title.

The convention will commence on Monday, December 2nd 2019 and culminate on Thursday, December 5th 2019, Friday will be check out.

Space is extremely limited, we will start taking hotel reservations on May 1st 2019 at our WBO offices, the cost will be $200 per night up to double occupancy. No more than two person per room is allowed. We also encourage for for all attendees to register early for the convention we are expecting a major turn and I would not like for anyone to be left out.

Thank you all for your continuing support and I will see you in Tokyo.

Domo Arigato, (Thank you)
