BoxingScene.com has been advised that there are no monetary issues with the lightweight unification between champions Ricky Burns (35-2, 10KOs) and Miguel Vazquez (33-3, 13KOs). The fight is scheduled to take place on March 16th at Wembley Arena in London.

According to sources with direct knowledge of the situation, Vazquez’s comments which are circulating around are several days old. Vazquez’s promoter, Juan Carlos Torres of Zanfer Promotions, had sent a signed “letter of acceptance” to Frank Warren’s matchmaker Dean Powell on January 10th, four days before the match was officially announced by Warren at a press event.

On Tuesday, February 19th, Torres threw water on the circulating withdrawal rumors by sending over a confirming photo to Warren’s side. In the photo, Vazquez is standing with trainer/co-manager Javiar Capetillo and the boxer is holding up a signed bout agreement to face Burns on the agreed upon date.
