Las Vegas , September 13, 2025 – Terence “Bud” Crawford cemented his place in boxing history tonight at Allegiant Stadium, delivering a solid performance to defeat Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and become the undisputed super middleweight world champion.

In front of a sold-out crowd in Las Vegas, the undefeated Crawford showcased his trademark speed even after going up in weight, and with precision, and defensive mastery went on to outbox Alvarez over 12 electric rounds. The judges scored the bout unanimously in Crawford’s favor: 115-113, 115-113, 116-112.

With the victory, Crawford becomes the first male boxer in history to become undisputed champion in three different weight classes—lightweight, welterweight, and now super middleweight.

This is what greatness looks like,” Crawford said in the post-fight interview. “Canelo is a legend, but tonight was my night. I came to make history.”

Alvarez, gracious in defeat, acknowledged Crawford’s performance. “He was the better man tonight. He’s a great fighter—very smart, very quick. I have no excuses.
