Rafael “El Divino” Espinoza Dominates Arnold Khegai, Retains WBO Featherweight Title via TKO
San Luis Potosí, México — Rafael “El Divino” Espinoza (28–0, 24 KOs) put on a masterful performance November 15th at the Arena Coliseo in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, to retain his WBO featherweight championship, stopping Arnold Khegai (23–3–1, 14 KOs) via technical knockout in the 11th round.
From the opening bell, Espinoza controlled the action, he made sure to make good use of his reach, using a sharp jab and precise combinations to keep Khegai at bay. As the fight progressed, Espinoza stepped on the gas, unleashing punishing uppercuts and body shots that began to wear down his shorter opponent.
The turning point came in the seventh round, when a clash of heads opened a cut over Khegai’s left eye. Espinoza continued to put pressure and by round ten, the damage was obvious — Khegai’s face was swollen, his vision compromised, and his corner made the wise decision to stop the fight before the start of round 11.
With this win, Espinoza records his fourth successful defense of the WBO featherweight title — and remarkably, all by stoppage, he remains undefeated with 28 wins.
Espinoza’s victory tonight raises the big question — who’s next?
