4th Successful World Title Defense for Hiruta
Carla “La Muñeca” Merino, failed to win the world title this Saturday in Los Angeles, California.
In the World Boxing Organization junior bantamweight world championship match, Japanese sensation Mizuki Hiruta, prevailed in the ring at the Commerce Hotel & Casino.
In a close and defensive fight, the Japanese woman guarded her guard, and the Argentinean couldn’t connect with the clarity she does in most of her fights.
The Buenos Aires native living in Río Cuarto had a second and sixth round where she could have made a difference, but Hiruta hit with greater precision throughout most of the fight.
The fight ended with a unanimous decision in favor of Hiruta, who dominated throughout the bout. The judges’ scorecards determined the scores 98-82, 99-91, and 98-92, confirming the victory for the Okayama-born boxer.
